Have you been contacted by fake recruiters recently?

Just a heads-up to any would-be newbie thinking of working in China or changing jobs.

yet again i was contacted by a 'recruiter' who failed a basic legitimacy test:

    Beijingmagic education AKA Globe_Talent

This is not spamming, but a friendly warning to avoid these guys.

There could be reputable places out there, but it is up to us to spread the word on those who are fake

    Cheers all

    wink

I got signed up for another job service site and the people who signed me up used my email... Meaning I got the account and password info in my inbox. It seems somebody is desperate to get me to use their job advert website. No thanks.

Interesting, these guys sent me a couple of emails last week... one said "you could earn RMB1000 per day at a summer camp starting at the end of July.."

Not knowing who they were and how they got my email address, I just added them to my "junk" list...

Thanks for the heads up on their real company name... noted for the future..!

Yup, they try to contact me all the time. I am not sure what their goal is (other than wasting people's time) but anyone who falls for this gong show has a bad experience coming over the horizon.

just list them here on ECC to at least warn people about who to avoid.

No, I wasn't by this one, but I saw job adverts of 'BJ Magic Edu' somewhere. I don't recall was it here or at Dave's.

    Yahoo-gle has few links:

    http://www.abroadchina.org/person/employer.asp?cid=1309744014

Can't search for the employer's name at Dave's, because search there is powered by GOOG.

How/where did they contact you? And also get your contact details??

    sophia:

Somebody else was reading your CV beside the advertiser, when you sent your CV with email address listed. Only thing, I can think of.

Work email? Somebody from your job, sharing/have your email address.

I'm very active with 'sending CV' everywhere ESL in China, and I don't have similar occurrence. My CV here isn't in 'visible mood'. I'm sending it to the individual adverts.

I'm not sure of the purpose of work email address, but if repeated just change your address. Send it to the 'spam' folder.
